Gallop Extension has been a go-to location for many wedding photographers and for good reason. The unique architecture of the buildings combined with the nearby wide open spaces and lush greenery provide the perfect backdrop for any pre-wedding shoot. I find the area extremely rich in compositional potential, having a myriad of eye-catching natural elements and architectural details. Definitely keep this location in mind for your wedding shoots or any photo shoot in general.
A large spacious well-maintained park with a lake. Neat and clean walking and jogging track. Away from the busy city life. Pleasant ambience for evening family time. Much needed nature and calm environment.
Experience serenity and tranquility as you embark on a leisurely walk through the Gallop Extension within Singapore Botanic Gardens. This enchanting extension invites you to unwind amidst its natural beauty.
Meander along winding pathways shaded by majestic trees, providing a cooling canopy from the tropical sun. Listen to the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze, creating a peaceful ambiance that accompanies your every step.
What a beautiful garden, took two days to see it properly. Very well maintained and so much to see
This is an extension behind Orchid garden of the Singapore Botanic Garden right across the street to where tour buses usually parked. There is a nice walkway winding through this part with a children playground along the way, and eventually popped out near Woolerton and eventually Farrer Road near the MRT station.
A perfect place to get away from the busy city life in the city!
Explored the Gallop Road side of the botanic garden. The ex French ambassy and the French ambassador's residence were turned into art and nature exhibition venue.
It's nice to be able to walk into the mock Tudor style black & white bungalow and have a close view at the architectural.
The National Orchid Garden is also one of my favourite places to visit.
Just these two places took me 4 hrs.
Do bring along a hat and water bottle when you visit. Weather can be hot n humid.
I really recommend visiting this area of the garden. It is gorgeous. The centerpiece of this area are the two historic black and white bungalows on top of a small hill, which serve as exhibition areas for botanic artwork, architectural history and nature-related exhibits. Really well done with magnificent views of the verdant houses surrounding the gardens. It was very quiet in this section of the garden, so a very special experience. You can catch a Grab at the Gallop Extension Visitor Counter after a steamy visit. The Botanic Gardens richly deserve a couple of visits to take it all in.
This park is part of the Singapore Botanical Gardens but it separated by a road. It is only several months old and not many people seem to know about it so there were no crowds which was nice.
The place looks and feels new. There is an art gallery (of plants) in one of the colonial houses and an information center on Singapore's eco biodiversity with some bits of history thrown in at the other building.
There is a children's playground with a short walking trail that connects everything together. Seems like a great place for families and casual walks. The landscape is slightly hilly too which makes it a good workout if that is your sort of thing.
